Clive Sherwood Collection until sold Sotheby’s London 2002

During the second half of 20thC Clive Sherwood amassed an extaordinarily fine collection of early oak, remarkable for being totally scrupulous about authenticity and condition of the pieces he collected, he would constantly upgrade the pieces in his collection and sell the less rare or good items in order to buy finer examples, his collection was dispersed in a single-owner sale by Sotheby’s in 2002 when this piece then passed to its previous owner.
