A fine George III mahogany pedestal desk in the manner of Thomas Chippendale’s work at Paxton House. The tooled, black leather-lined top above a kneehole surrounded by 25, finely-dovetailed, oak-lined drawers with swan neck handles, over a moulded plinth. Finished on all sides, the back with three panels, allowing the piece to free-stand in the centre of a room.
