A fine and rare George II mahogany harlequin reading and writing table in the manner of Thomas Potter. The hinged, rectangular, top opening to reveal a leather-lined writing surface and raising to form an angled reading stand with removable book rest; with drawers to each side, one fitted for ink wells, raised on a very unusual tripod base with cluster column support and scrolling feet.
