A George III painted ash chair in the Sheraton style with shield-shaped back, stuffed seat and square tapering legs, the frame painted with attenuated drapery and delicately trailing leaves.
An unusual feature of this chair is that the timber is ash-wood, it is far more common to find this type of painted decoration on satinwood.
