Group of French Royal Miniatures

£650

A group of French Royal miniature drawings, the central portrait inscribed as being of Charles X, though it appears to show his older brother, and precursor as King, Louis XVIII. The other portraits appear to be of the duc d’Angoulème, son of Charles X, and his wife Marie-Therèse Charlotte, daughter of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette; also, possibly, Marie-Therèse de Savoie, comtesse d’Artois and perhaps Sophie, mademoiselle d’Artois, her daughter; contained within a Louis XVI gilt-wood frame
