Antique Louis-Philippe Painted Opaline Vase Lamp in the Manner of Jean François Robert

A fine Louis-Philippe painted opaline vase lamp attributed to Jean François Robert, painted with summer flowers on a milky white ground within turquoise and gilt bands

Now converted to a lamp with a bespoke gilt-wood base, solid brass fittings and silk braided flex. This lamp can be wired in our workshop for use in any country.

Jean François Robert (1778-1855) invented new techniques to improve the quality and durability of painting on opaline glass. He worked at the Sèvres factory from 1808 til 1843 and then at the Baccarat and St. Louis factories from 1843 until his death
