Pair of Antique Bronze Mounted Crackle Glaze Lamps

A fine pair of crackle glazed vase lamps attributed to Maison Gagneau, the Chinese style baluster vases probably by Charles Ficquenet for Sevres factory, mounted on black enamelled and gilt bronze bases of lotus shape and with conforming ormolu mounts to the rims.

 

Wired for electricity with silk braided flex. These lamps can be wired in our workshop for use in any country

Maison Gagneau

Maison Gagneau, founded in Paris in 1800, was a bronzier and manufacturer of fine lighting popular throughout the 19th century. First established at 25, rue d’Enghien, Maison Gagneau settled at 115 rue Lafayette. It participated at the famous French and international exhibitions, les Expositions des Produits de l’Industrie and also Universal Exhibitions and won several distinctions. It was also a member of the jury during the Universal Exhibition of 1889.
