Pair of Japanned Cache Pots

A scarce and unusual pair of japanned papier mache jardiniere or cache pots decorated with chinoiserie scenes of figures in lakeside settings with temples and other buildings; the reverse decorated with a garden lantern and cats enjoying their dinner against a backdrop of a lacquer screen. Each with their original, removable,  zinc liner.
