Pair of 18th Century Ormolu and Silvered Bronze Covered Urns

A exceptionally fine and rare pair of Louis XVI Neoclassical silvered bronze ormolu mounted covered urns, Possibly by Pierre-Philippe Thomire, each domed cover surmounted by an acorn finial and pierced stiff-leaf collar, the oval body with spiralling handles issued from satyr masks, the tapering base embellished with wheat and stiff-leaf motif above a foliate foot and spreading socle terminating in laurel detail on an oval plinth. Possibly intended as chestnut urns or purely purely as decoration.
