Pair of Neo-Classical Mahogany Bergère Armchairs

A finely carved pair of Neo-Classical style mahogany bergères or armchairs in the George III style of Robert Adam. The arched, padded back following down to form the scroll-over arms with carved paterae to the front of the scrolls and moulded arm facings carved with bead and leaf decoration leading down to the gently serpentine-fronted seat centred with an urn and flanked by fluted carving; all raised on fluted tapering legs terminating in spade feet and inset brass castors.
