Rare Set of Three Georgian Portraits in frames attributed to William Mathie

from the circle of John Singleton Copley and retaining their original fine rococo giltwood frames, depicting two ladies and a gentleman, possibly mother, son and daughter-in-law; the older female sitter shown in lace cap and holding a rose, the younger with jewel-dressed hair and with one hand raised to the bow on the neckline of her dress, the gentleman simply dressed in grey coat with blue waistcoat; the giltwood frames formed of flower-carved rococo scrollwork
