Rare William & Mary Walnut Gateleg Table

£1,850

A late 17th/early 18th century walnut drop-leaf table the twin hinged oval top above one short frieze drawer, raised on columnar turned and block legs, terminating in S-scroll feet.
Tables of this form were more commonly made of oak, the use of walnut indicates a higher status of the original owner, also, walnut is more susceptable to worm infestation, making the present table a scarce survival.
Please note that the images are prior to waxing of the original surface which has revived the patina.
