Unusual Late George III Chinoiserie and Ormolu Metamorphic Table

the rectangular top edged with ormolu and decorated with chinoiserie scenes and fitted with an adjustable mechanism which converts it from a table to a reading stand and, in turn, to pole screen; supported on a baluster-turned stem with ormolu mounts raised on scrolling tripod legs also with ormolu mounts and ball feet. It may be desirable to protect the top with glass, if used as a table, we can arrange for a toughened glass top to be made and this would be held neatly in place by the lip on the ormolu edging.
