Rare 18th Century Watercolour Prospect of Shrewsbury
A rare 18th Century watercolour view showing a south west prospect of the riverside city of Shrewsbury with cows the size of elephants and a gang of men erecting a mast. Presented in a beaded giltwood frame. Later images of the same view, produced in 1730s show different field boundaries with avenues of trees, therefore suggesting that the present watercolour dates to the 1720’s early 1730s
