Rare Set of Seventeen George III Red Lacquer Wine Coasters

comprising of five large coasters and twelve smaller coasters, all decorated with bands of flowers, possibly snowdrops interspersed with panels depicting urns and wine ewers in neo-classical style on a sealing-wax red ground. The larger coasters are the standard size for wine coasters, the smaller coasters are most unusual and are presumably intended for individual carafes of wine.

This is the largest set of wine coasters know to exist meaning they are quite possibly unique.
