George II Kentian Style Giltwood Mirror or Picture Frame

A fine antique George II carved and gilded mirror frame of picture frame in the style of William Kent. The sanded ground with extended corners surrounded by egg-and-dart carving and containing sunflower paterae, the internal sight edged with rope-twist border. Originally a picture frame, probably for a portrait and now fitted with a mirror.
