George III Painted Chair probably by Gillow

A George III painted chairr in the manner of James Wyatt, and probably made by Gillows of Lancaster. The shield-shaped back with three palm-capped stick splats, the bowed caned seats raised on turned legs joined by turned stretchers, painted in green on a cream ground in distressed, “country house” condition. The cane seat requiting replacement.
