Henry Edridge (1769-1821) Portrait of a Young Lady

£880

A George III portrait of a young lady, attributed to Henry Edridge (1769-1821) The sitter shown full length, seated in a landscape. Presented mounted and in a marbled frame.

Henry Edridge (1769-1821) painted many strikingly similar portraits of the  daughters of George III, Princess Charlotte, Princess Augusta Sophia, Princess Elizabeth, Princess Mary, Princess Sopia, and Princess Amelia. The present watercolour is typical of these portraits, versions of which are in the Royal Collection, though the striking beauty of the sitter in the present watercolour suggests that she is probably not a Hanoverian Princess
