A large 18th Century portrait of a young woman, finely painted and shown wearing fine renaissance jewellery hung with pearls, standing in a yellow silk gown, embroidered apron or “zinale”, traditionally a symbol of virginity, and a fur stole over her shoulder, probably a marten or zibellino.
Oil on canvas (relined by Francis Leedham [1794-1870]) presented in an ebonised and gilt frame
