Adam Bentley
Adam comes from an antique and fine art conservation background and has spent fifteen years working in that capacity for collectors, dealers, museums and other public institutions in the UK and overseas.
In 2016, after meeting Lucinda Chetwode, his now business partner, he took the next step and left his job as a conservator to pursue a career dealing in fine and unusual antiques sourced from across the globe. In June 2017 Adam Calvert Bentley moved into a new 650sq foot showroom-gallery space in Battersea, London, where the stock is viewable by appointment. Having continued to provide conservation and restoration services alongside the antiques business, in 2019 Adam set up a workshop alongside the Battersea showrooms.
Cindy Chetwode
Cindy has been dealing in antiques since she first set up business in her house in Scotland in 1982 and has also lectured extensively on Decorative Arts and Social History in Britain and the U.S. She is and has been a trustee for the Royal Collection Trust, Vice-President of the National Trust for Scotland and a Trustee of the Wallace Collection and Chatsworth House Trust. Since handing over the reins of Ardgowan House to her son, she moved to Hampshire where some of the larger pieces of stock for sale on our website are viewable by appointment.
